摘要： Studies were put forward on cold - tolerance breeding of early season hybrid rice with an objective of overcoming the chilling injury of seedlings encountered during rice production for the early season cropping in Jiangxi province. 4788A, a CMS line with strong cold - tolerance, was developed by means of cross breeding and use of strong cold tolerance from Dongxiang Wild Rice. It is expected that early season rice hybrids with strong cold - tolerance, high yield potential and resistance to pests and diseases will be generated by using parental lines with strong cold - tolerance. The prospect and challenges in the development of cold - tolerant hybrids for early season cropping were also discussed in this paper.
